A Bit Of History

Dr. Baker is a native of Newberry, SC and understands the people and places that make Newberry and the surrounding area home. A graduate of Duke University and the Medical University of South Carolina College of Dental Medicine, Dr. Baker never considered practicing dentistry anywhere else.

About The Practice

Dr. Baker’s dental practice is located at 1307 Hunt Street, Newberry in the office building his grandfather built for his father, Dr. Ralph Baker a surgeon who practiced there for 30 years. His father said he knew the people of Newberry “inside out.” Although Erwin doesn’t know people from the inside, he continues to carry on the tradition of excellent patient care and compassion his father demonstrated before him. In his own words: “I am truly blessed to serve this community and be a part of making people’s lives better through excellent oral health.” To that end, Dr. Baker is committed to exceptional patient care, state-of-the-art equipment and a complete range of dental services. By staying abreast of the latest dental technologies and procedures, Baker Family Dental can provide the most advanced, personalized dental care for you and your family.

A Giving Attitude

Dr. Baker and his staff are actively involved in dental education programs throughout the community including Dental Health Month in the public schools, the Industrial Health Fair, Wellness Center Health Fair, the Newberry County Sheriff’s Department Child Identification Program, and they provide free dental services for Give Kids a Smile. Additionally, Erwin and Baker Family Dental Clinic support the military in Iraq and Afghanistan, Vets with a Mission, Manna House, We Care, Harvest Hope Food Bank, Newberry College athletics, Boy Scouts of America, and various youth sports teams. Dr. Baker is also a member and past president of the Rotary Club, past board member of the Newberry County YMCA, and a member of Lake Murray Evangelical Church.
